Joan Hall Studios is an art studio in Rhode Island where sculptor and mixed media artist Joan Hall produces almost all of her large-scale works and installations. Hall is a sculptor who devotes most of her time to using paper, metal, glass, and other forms of media to create her mixed media art. Her printmaking studio allows her to inject color and texture into her art, and Hall has also always been drawn to working with handmade paper in her mixed media art studio. It has allowed her to create artwork that is truly unique.
Over the years, Hall has used Joan Hall Studios to create quite a few large installations that have been featured in one-person exhibitions throughout the country. Her art studio in Rhode Island has allowed her to produce art that has been put on display at the Blue Star Contemporary Art Center in San Antonio, The Hillwood Museum in New York, the Budapest Museum of Art in Hungary, and many other well-known museums and art centers. From her sculpture studio, Hall has established herself as one of the most creative mixed media artists in the country.
Hall’s work has been included in a number of books, including Critical Mass, Papermaking for Printers, The History of Paper, Artforms, Paper Mageri II, and more. The work she has done in her art studio in Rhode Island has also been featured on New York 1, cable TV, and Channel 9 in St. Louis. She holds the distinction of serving as a visiting artist and critic in the U.S. and Europe, but she maintains strong ties to her mixed media art studio, and can be found there creating mixed media art regularly.
