5 Gyres Expedition

SEA CHANGE EXPEDITION 2015

Joan Hall was a crew member on the research expedition with the 5 Gyres Institute aboard the schooner, the “Mystic”. They sailed from Miami to The Eleuthera Islands documenting plastic in the ocean from June 2nd -June 4th. She joined a crew of scientists, artists and activists including Jack Johnson and ocean conservation activist Celline Cousteau.

Once landing she attended the youth summit on the island, a 3-day gathering of activists, artists, scientists, educators and island youth to explore and generate solutions to plastic pollution for island nations around the world
